Appassionata Duo's exclusive summer concert series
offers a highly intimate musical experience for a very small number of guests!
The evening takes place at the historic Harwelden Mansion. Guests enjoy an elegant cocktail party where
they are able to mingle with the artists and fellow concert-goers while enjoying drinks
and a catered buffet of hot hors d’oeuvres.
The intimate musical performance offers unique “in-the-round” seating, giving concert goers an up-close-and-personal
experience and the chance to ask questions, learn about the instruments and get
to know the musicians.
This series is sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa.
About Appassionata Duo
Established in the spring
of 2010 by Tulsa Symphony Orchestra's principal violist Jeff Cowen and principal harpist Jill
Wiebe, Appassionata has quickly become one of Tulsa's most sought-after
ensembles. Appassionata's debut performance at the Performing Arts
Center resulted in the first ever "screaming standing ovation" for the
Brown Bag It concert series. This provocative duo has caught the
attention of classical and pop music fans alike with a repertoire that
covers everything from Clair de Lune to Guns N' Roses. Appassionata's
concerts keep audiences on their toes - moving quickly between poignant
Romantic treasures, intricate classical works, sultry Latin dances
often to a few
surprises from their rock collection. The duo's debut concert and CD
release concert drew a standing-room-only crowd. Their latest venture,
the Candlelight Concert Series, has been a runaway success with two sold out seasons. Season 3 begins in October 2013.
