Yuletide Treasures - Virtual Event

Cocktail hour at 7pm, Concert at 7:30pm

Celebrate the holiday season from the comfort of your home with a virtual presentation of "Yuletide Treasures". The evening begins with a virtual cocktail hour at 7pm. Prepare a drink of your choice or make one of the recommended cocktail recipes. The concert will follow at 7:30pm. This event will take place on Zoom and is limited to recent ticket holders and season subscribers.

Admission to the virtual event is by donation in any amount you choose.

Recommended Cocktails

All recipes make 2 servings
Santa Claus-mopolitan

INGREDIENTS

2 Tbsp. Sugar

2 Limes (2 lime wedges and 1 oz. fresh squeezed limes juice)

Ice

3 oz. Vodka or vanilla flavored vodka

5 oz. Cranberry juice

½ oz. Triple sec or orange liqueur

A few fresh cranberries (optional)

EQUIPMENT

2 Martini glasses

Tablespoon

Small plate

Sharp knife

Cutting board

Citrus squeezer

Small bowl or cup to collect lime juice

Measuring cup labeled in ounces

Cocktail shaker

DIRECTIONS

Place 2 Tbsp. sugar on a small plate. Cut 2 small wedges from a lime. Run a lime wedge around each glass then dip in sugar to coat the rims. Squeeze juice from the remaining limes into a bowl or cup and measure out 1 oz of lime juice, set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice then add 1 oz. lime juice, 3 oz. vodka, 5 oz. cranberry juice and ½ triple sec or orange liqueur. Shake until the cocktail shaker is cold. Strain cocktail into rimmed glasses and add fresh cranberries for garnish (optional).

Winter Harvest Margarita

INGREDIENTS

2 tsp. Sugar

1 tsp. Cinnamon

1 tsp. Salt

2 Limes (2 lime wedges and 1 oz. fresh squeezed limes juice)

Ice

3 oz. Tequila

3 oz. Apple cider or apple juice

2 tsp. Simple syrup or agave nectar

Apple slice (optional)

Cinnamon stick (optional)

2 Rocks glasses or margarita glasses

Teaspoon

Small bowl or cup to collect lime juice

DIRECTIONS

On a small plate, combine 2 tsp. sugar, 1 tsp. cinnamon and 1 tsp. salt and stir to mix together. Cut 2 small wedges from a lime. Run a lime wedge around each glass then dip in sugar/cinnamon /salt mixture to coat the rims. Squeeze juice from the remaining limes into a bowl or cup and measure out 1 oz of lime juice, set aside. Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice then add 1 oz. lime juice, 3 oz. tequila, 3 oz. apple cider or apple juice and 2 tsp. simple syrup or agave nectar. Shake until very cold. Add a few ice cubes to prepared rocks glasses or margarita classes, then strain cocktail evenly between glasses. Garnish with apple slice and cinnamon stick (optional).

Sugar Cookie Martini

INGREDIENTS

1 Tbsp. Butter (room temperature)

6 Tbsp. Powdered sugar

1 ½ tsp. Milk

¼ c. Sprinkles

Ice

4 oz. Whole milk

2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream

2 oz. Vanilla vodka

2 oz. Amaretto

INSTRUCTIONS

In a small bowl, add 1 Tbsp. butter (room temperature), 6 Tbsp. powdered sugar and 1 ½ tsp. milk. Stir until a smooth frosting develops.  Using an offset spatula, spread a thin layer of frosting onto rim of two martini glasses. Pour ¼ cup sprinkles onto a small plate then dip rims in sprinkles to coat. Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice then add 4 oz. whole milk, 2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream, 2 oz. vanilla vodka and 2 oz. amaretto. Shake until cold then strain into prepared glasses.

Yuletide Fireside

INGREDIENTS

A few hickory wood chips

Ice

3 oz. Bourbon or whisky

1 Tbsp. Cherry syrup

8 dashes regular or flavored bitters*

Premium cocktail cherries**

*Recommended: El Guapo Holiday Pie Bitters or Fee Brothers Black Walnut Bitters (both available on Amazon)

**Recommended: Peninsula Premium Cocktail Cherries, Traverse City Whiskey Co. Premium Cocktail Cherries or Filthy Food Black Amarena Cherries (all available on Amazon)

INSTRUCTIONS

Place a small pile of wood chips on a plate or other non-flammable surface. Light the wood chips and immediately place upside down glasses over them to trap the smoke. Leave the glasses to sit filled with smoke as you prepare the drink. Add a few ice cubes to a cocktail shaker, then pour in 3 oz. bourbon or whisky, 1 Tablespoon cherry syrup (taken from the container of premium cocktail cherries) and 8 dashes of bitters (1 dash=1 hard shake or 6-8 drops). Stir gently with a long spoon for a few seconds. Turn over smoked cocktail glasses and add one large ice cube to each. Place the top lid on the cocktail shaker and strain cocktail into the two glasses. Garnish with 1-2 cocktail cherries.
